CBT-I Sleep Therapy

Sleep is foundational to our well-being

We often think of sleep as something separate from the rest of our health, but it impacts almost everything — our mood, energy, concentration, appetite, metabolism, stress, and how well we cope with everyday life.

As Family Physicians, we see firsthand how often poor sleep shows up alongside other chronic health concerns. Sometimes it's a symptom of something else going on, and sometimes it's one of the things keeping the problem going.

Either way, we believe sleep is worth understanding properly.

And if you've been struggling with sleep for a while, you deserve a thorough assessment of what may actually be getting in the way.

Our approach to CBT-I

At Thrivology Heath, our core approach to sleep therapy centres on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I — an evidence-based, non-medication first-line treatment for chronic insomnia.

Rather than simply giving you a list of sleep tips, we address your sleep as a whole: your health profile, schedule and routines, thoughts about sleep, stress, and arousal, and the relationship you’ve developed with sleep itself.

Our goal is not to make you try harder to sleep.

It’s to help your mind and body relearn how to sleep more naturally.

RESET by Thrivology

During your structured ~6–8 week program, you’ll work one-on-one with your physician to better understand your relationship with sleep.

We start by getting a clear picture of what your sleep actually looks like and what may be contributing to the problem. From there, we build a personalized sleep plan and adjust it with you over time. Every body is unique, so your care should be too.

Your customized program may include:

  • A detailed assessment of your sleep patterns and the factors affecting them

  • A personalized sleep schedule and treatment plan

  • Evidence-based strategies and techniques including how to

    • Strengthen your natural sleep drive

    • Rebuild the connection between your bed and sleep

    • Identify thoughts and habits that may unintentionally be keeping insomnia going

    • Relaxation and nervous-system regulation

  • Ongoing adjustments as needed

Take the next step toward better sleep

You don't have to keep guessing at what to try next. Better sleep is something we can work on together.
