Thrivology Health is a virtual clinic specializing in medical psychotherapy and behavioural counselling for mental health and weight management.

During these sessions, our physicians aim to build a therapeutic relationship through exploring past, present, and future issues that contribute to mental health concerns including disordered eating, anxiety, stress, depression, insomnia, substance use, and other problematic habits. Our goal is to support and assist patients in developing awareness and self-efficacy in order to facilitate sustainable, long-lasting positive changes in their habits, mind, and chronic health outcomes.

In order to provide the most ethical care, our services are specific to our scope as physician consultants. Please see our referral form for further details regarding care coordination.

How much do your services cost?

Accepted Answer

Our services are 100% covered for Alberta residents who are actively enrolled in the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) and have a qualifying mental health diagnosis.

For out of province patients, we charge a private pay counselling fee. Please contact us for more details.

Question 3

How do I book an appointment?

Accepted Answer

In the interest of preserving continuity of care, we require a referral from your Family Physician as we will be in contact with them for ongoing communication, collaboration, and to avoid duplication of services.

Once your referral is received, we will contact you directly to arrange an initial consultation.

We are unable to accept self-referrals.

Do your physicians prescribe medication?

Accepted Answer

Our practice is centred on psychotherapy for weight management and mental health concerns. As consultants, we recognize the value of longitudinal relationships in the primary care setting, and we are dedicated to working collaboratively with Family Physicians in the care of our mutual patients.

We may provide medication recommendations or prescriptions when indicated, with the consent of your Family Physician.
